What are the types of reports present in Magento 2?
You can see a list of reports in Reports tab of the admin panel. Magento includes 22 reports divided into five groups. Let’s explore each group in detail:
Go to Reports => Sales
You can fetch all the statistics related to orders, tax rates, invoices, shipping, credit memos, and coupons in your store. For all reports, there is a filter to see the report by period, date range, and order status.
There are seven options in sales reports in Magento 2.
Orders: It shows information about the number of orders placed and canceled, with totals for sales, amounts refunded, tax collected, shipping charges, and discounts.
Tax: It provides information about tax rule and rate, number of orders, and tax amount charged.
Invoiced: It contains the number of orders invoiced.
Shipping: It shows the total number of orders for carrier or shipping method used, with amounts for total sales shipping and total shipping.
Refund: It displays the number of refunded orders and the total amount refunded online via payment gateway as well as the offline refund.
Coupons: It shows the list of coupon code used by customers in the specified time.
PayPal Settlements / Braintree Settlements: See the information for every transaction that affects the settlement of funds for PayPal and Braintree.
Go to Reports => Marketing
There are four options in marketing reports in Magento 2.Products in cart: As the name suggests, you can see the products that are currently in customers’ shopping carts on the storefront or of pending orders in the admin panel.
Search Terms Report: It allows you to see the most popular search queries in your Magento store.
Abandoned Cart Report: The next report allows you to see the abandoned carts from your customers, which is important to contact those customers again to motivate them to complete their order.
Newsletter Problems Report: If there are errors in the newsletter delivery, you will be able to see and review those errors from this report, and all the details about the errors will be located in the log file in the var/log folder.
Go to Reports => Reviews
By Customers / By Products: With these reports, you will be able to take a closer look at the statistics of the reviews in your store, grouping the statistics for those reviews by customers or by products.
Go to Reports => Customers
Orders Total: Check the entire amount for the purchases of each customer for a given period, including the average number of purchases by the buyer.Order Count: Get the total number of purchases by each customer for a given time, including the average number of orders by the buyer.
New: This provides information about the number of new customers by the interval of a particular time.
Go to Reports => Products
Views: See the number of views for each of the products in the store in a given time.Bestsellers: Review the list of best sellers for a given period.
Low Stock: Review the list of products that currently have a low stock quantity.
Ordered: See a list of ordered products and the number of products sold for the selected period.
Downloads: See the statistics related to downloadable products, including purchases and download.
How to export reports?
Step 1: To export report, go to the required report page.
Step 2: Select correct store view and assign values for filters to get desired reports.
Step 3: After inserting the filters click on show report, to see the report.
Step 4: The report will be visible in the grid below filters.
Step 5: To export the report click on the Export button in right-hand side and click on CSV.
This will download the report in CSV format.
